Introduction - Tappa Taal:

Tappa Taal exemplifies the rhythmic cycle with wonderful measurability. It has words driven to create beautiful beats and rhythm.

Structure of Tappa Taal:

Tappa Taal consists of 16 beats, divided into four vibhags:

  • Sam: First beat, where the cycle initiates.
  • Tali:Three strong accents placed on the First,fifth and the thirteenth pitches:
  • Khali:Wave on 9th beat thus creating a beat tension.
  • Division: Since it is divided into 4/4/4/4, it is a balanced rhythmic cycle
